Tokyo Subway Swap

I only thought I was a tech person.  My computer has been sitting on my office desk DEAD for a week or two.  When I pushed the button to turn it on, it just flashed a red light at me.  As I was convincing myself that I needed a new Macbook, my amiga Lizzy told me to just take the battery out and put it back in.  It worked.  So here I am.  On my old computer.  The free one.  It is not sleek, nor does it have fruit on it, but it does work.

What have I been up to while my computer has been playing possum (opossum?)?  Well, some of my gal pals from my quilt guild (and a couple other friends far away) wanted to make the Tokyo Subway Map quilt, but we didn’t want to have to buy 8 million fabrics.  So we are in the process of swapping– I’m just waiting on all the baggies to come in.  I am hoping I have time this summer to get this quilt made!

Have you thought about what you are sewing this summer?

I love the Tokyo Subway Map Quilt but I don’t think my piecing is accurate enough for that yet. I plan to take some skill classes, make a baby quilt and finish a quilt I just started in time to be a November wedding gift. All of that is really ambitious for me since I’ll be trying to entertain a 3 yr. old & take care of a 9 month old at the same time. Whew! I’m exhausted just thinking about it all!

  2. My summer list is ridiculously long, and will largely go unfinished I am sure. I’m trying to finish up the quilt for Creamie’s bed this week. She only needed it like… oh, 6 months ago. I’m a lame mom. Whatever, I’m over it. I was looking at my to make list for quilts a few days ago and there are 12 on it. Before Christmas. Three just need binding and they are done, but the other 9… well I have the fabric for all but 1. Ha!

Goals are to finish the Red and Black Quilt that I started over a year ago. I also need to finish the Blooming Nine Patch that I started 2 years ago. This year I want to finish as many projects that I started and did not finish but I also find something else to do. Quilting retreat is in August so I will fins a project to do then
