Craigslist Treasure

I’ve been searching for a buffet on Craigslist for about a week because this is the year for me to push my decorating to the next level and give my house a more finished look.  Finally, I found something that looked interesting, so I talked the owner down to $125 because the posted pic was pretty awful, and my hopes weren’t high.  I knew I would have to probably paint or refinish.  So I sent my husband to the trailer park to save this buffet.

When my husband got home and unloaded it, I didn’t even go look at it because I dreaded the work involved to make it beautiful.  But when I eventually trekked out to his mancave/garage and saw it, I fell in love immediately.  It’s just what I was hoping for.  Something not very Pottery Barn.  I wanted a piece that added interest to the room, and I found just the amount of character I was looking for.  I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

You truly found a treasure if you got that for $125. It’s beautiful. I know you’ll enjoy that piece for a long time.

  3. That is fantastic! I love finding a good deal like that. And even better when it turns out to be way less work than I expected. I have a terrible habit of underestimating the amount of work a project is going to be… so I have an embarassing large stack of unfinished projects as a result. Ha!
