Brenda’s Red Barn

I told you I ran off for a weekend of quilting (right down the road from PW!), and I know you just have to hear all about it.   Trust me, you need to call Brenda to book your retreat!  Now.  Because she’s almost totally booked for 2011.

This is our group.  That’s Brenda, the proprietess, in the apron (and that’s mom on the far right with the Halloween shirt).  This woman is the most fun.  She oozes Southern charm and hospitality.   She took great care of us by feeding us wonderful food and bringing us troughs of chocolate.  My kind of gal.  She’s also an APQS dealer, so she’s extremely talented and knowledgeable.

I hope these girls invite me on another retreat.  They get together with some other ladies and sew monthly.  I dream of having a group like this.  They are so supportive of each other and are always taking care of one another.  When Mom lost her husband 364 days ago, they were there.  I can’t even tell you all the support they have for provided her since, either.  A beautiful bond formed through quilting.

  1. Oh, and that’s me with the turqoise flower in my hair.

  2. This looks like so much fun. A sewing retreat is on my bucketlist of things to do. So jealous that you got to go!

Amen Danielle. Perfect retreat and fantastic experience with our group. Quilters out there, you must experience this place!! Brenda puts those special touches in place to make it an experience to remember. Looking forward to our monthly sew group on saturday, with the rest of the gals that couldnt be there. This is one of the best support groups a gal could have. I lost my husband a year ago on the 17th, miss his quirky and silly comments about my quilting! Yes, he always had thread on his clothes. Love to all!!
