Input Needed

I got hooked on quarter-square triangles (aka bowties).  I sewed the blocks into little four-patches for simplicity.

Ha!  Did I say “simplicity”?  WRONG!  I inadvertently pieced some backward.  This means I have a bit of ripping in my future.  Unless something else might work.

What do you think of the sashing?  If so, what color– butter yellow, fresh green, or blue (this is the wrong blue, but I don’t have the aqua that’s dancing in my head)?  Also, what do I use for border?  The stuff hanging on the left was purchased as backing.  The stuff on the right was meant to be border.  Now I’m just stuck.  This has been on my design wall for almost two weeks, so please help.  My original plan was NO SASHING, which I can still do (with about 30 minutes of ripping).

BTW, this quilt is much bigger– these are only a fraction of my blocks.

In the comments, could you please tell me–

1.  Does the sashing look goofy?

2.  If not, then what color do you like?

3.  What do I do for borders?

4.  Should I just stick this in the closet and get it out next summer?

I’m leaning toward ripping out the ones I screwed up and then not using any sashing.  But then again, I’m not real creative when it comes to design.  I lack that gene.  So, share yours, please.

I love the fabric on the left as the border and I really like the idea of using all 3 solids to frame/sash the blocks.

I like the sashing. The blocks really pop on the fresh green. Since the border fabric is not next to the green sashing I can’t really get a good visual as to which would work better.

  3. I think my favorite is the yellow, it just looks so summery! And I LOVE LOVE that red pasileyish on the far right, SO pretty! Do I know if they go together? No idea, but they are sure pretty.
