I haven’t felt like blogging this week. A girl I went to school with K-12 was in a car accident with her two children and husband. One of her daughters, Emma, age 8, did not survive. Here we are a week later, and my childhood friend Sherry is still in the hospital.
Today was a big day for her. The day she had her second surgery. The day she was supposed to be taken off the ventilator to breathe on her own. The day they would determine the extent, if any, of brain damage. The day she would find out that her firstborn is no longer alive.
So, yeah– I haven’t quilted. I haven’t done much of anything except pray. If you could, please say a prayer for Sherry Key and her family.
Lord, whose ways are beyond understanding,
listen to the prayers of your faithful people:
that those weighed down by grief
at the loss of this child
may we find reassurance in your infinite goodness.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
