Last night, I dragged out a project that I haven’t touched in at least six months. It felt good. Oh, so good. In fact, it inspired me to (loosely) set work hours. Since I’m now quilting/sewing for a living, I’m going to try to work before 6pm, when possible, and then if I want to sew in the evening, I will work on something I’m not getting paid to do. That should help keep my creative juices and inspiration flowing, I think. How do the rest of you (those who sew for money) manage your paid-for-sewing vs. your just-for-fun sewing?
Anyway, I started with a stack of Moda crossweaves and a stack of Amy Butler Love because I love how they go together. After making 36 of these blocks, I’ll chop them up to make bento boxes. This quilt will go on my bed with the Amy Butler sheets that I got for Christmas. (The sheets are lovely, but they just don’t go with the quilt on there right now! It’s a tragic mess.) If I do 2 a night, I’ll be done in 2 weeks.
If you don’t mind, could you come back and bug me about this so that I don’t let it sit here another 6 months untouched? This is totally why I’m linking up to Freshly Pieced WIP Wednesday. If you haven’t been to Freshly Pieced WIP Wednesday before, go check it out and see what everyone is working on. It’s always inspiring.

Love the combination of the cross weaves and Amy Butler, such vibrant blocks. Looking forward to seeing the next step.
