I haven’t been blogging, but I have a good reason. I’ve quilted three quilts and bound (by hand) two in the last week. I’ve caught up on my bee blocks, and I’m motivated to keep on moving forward with my deadlines. You see, I have a lot of work to do by Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is when I’m going to try to have everyone’s Christmas stuff back to them so that they have time to bind and send off their quilts. Let’s just say that the proverbial one-armed paper hanger has nothing on me. Luckily, I work well under stress and with deadlines, so I have faith it will all come together. I have a giant quilt on the frame right now– if I can get it done by Friday, I’ll consider this week a success, too!
Here’s one of the quilts. My mom made it with a Figgy Pudding layer cake and bordered it in Fruitcake.
My mom is in a sorority and gives her secret sister a quilt each year when they reveal who has been brightening their days for the last year. What a neat tradition Mom has started. I’m not sure how many years she has been gifting quilts, but it has been more than just a few.
