I just love vintage things, and I’ve been collecting some pieces for years. Of course, I never know what to do with them, but I have them anyway. I’m going with the theory that one day Mars will align with Venus, and the ideas will come. Like, for instance, the day I found this pattern on my newish favorite blog.
The angels sang the Hallelujah chorus. or maybe it was James Blunt. Whatever the case, I knew exactly what I was going to make with my vintage sheet collection. Oh, wait. I had a collection of hankies and kitchen linens, but no sheets. So the thrifting began in full force this summer. I managed to score one or two at a time here in San Antonio. Yea, me, right?
But then I went to Houston for the week, and my grandma and I did a little thrifting. Let’s just say she’s my good luck charm. Here’s a peek at the sheets I found at one location (Sorry, not going to tell you where. It’s going to be my little secret). I scored these for $3.99 each.
So now, when I catch up on my other projects, I can make my ruffle quilt. (If I were the type to squeal, I’d do it now.) What’s your favorite thrifting find? My friend Erika just scored the item she’s been dreaming about her whole life. Check it out.

OK those are gorgeous! So so pretty, what a find!
not long ago i gave away the 2nd and 3rd from the bottom? had them for years in a cedar chest. from the alderson st apt!! wonder if they are/were mine. damn cool if so. i’ll be watching for the finished quilt.
